Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Secdit ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies on our website and in ConfigSentry.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies do we use?
We use strictly necessary cookies and, if you choose to allow them, preference cookies. We do not list every individual preference-cookie name because the settings available in ConfigSentry can change; instead, we describe the cookie families and their purposes below.
- PHPSESSID - a session cookie used to keep the site or app working during your visit, including login state, flash messages, and other session-based features.
- e_configsentry_csrf - a host-only, strictly necessary security cookie used by ConfigSentry to verify that form and API requests came from the same website. It is not used for tracking.
- e_configsentry_cookie_preferences - stores your cookie preferences for ConfigSentry.
- p_cs_u… - optional preference cookies used by ConfigSentry to remember interface choices, such as rows per page and selected table filters, only when you enable Preference Cookies.
We do not currently store any analytics or marketing cookies.
2. Session handling
Most session-related and authentication-related data is stored server-side in a temporary session database table, not in additional browser cookies. Session records are periodically cleared out.
3. Why we use cookies
- Strictly necessary: to keep the site and app secure and functional.
- Preferences: to remember the cookie choices you make in ConfigSentry and, where you opt in, personal interface choices such as table display settings and saved filters.
4. Cookie duration
PHPSESSID is a session cookie and normally expires when you close your browser. e_configsentry_csrf expires after 12 hours and is renewed when needed. e_configsentry_cookie_preferences and enabled p_cs_u… preference cookies are persistent cookies that remain for up to one year unless you clear them, change your cookie preference, or they are removed as described below.
5. Managing cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings or by opening your cookie preferences. Preference Cookies are optional. If you disable them, we remove p_-prefixed preference cookies from this browser. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the site or app from working correctly.
6. Preference-cookie scope
Preference-cookie names use the p_cs_u… family so they can be identified and managed consistently. They are scoped to the signed-in user and, where relevant, to a specific account or appliance. This prevents preferences from one signed-in user being used for another. On explicit sign-out, the current user’s preference cookies are removed. When you delete an account or appliance, matching preferences in the browser used for that action are also removed.
7. Third-party services
Some pages load content or libraries from third-party services. Those third parties may process requests that you make to them in accordance with their own policies.
8. Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our cookies, technologies, legal requirements, or services. The updated version will be posted on this page.
9. Contact
If you have questions about this Cookie Policy or your cookie preferences, contact us at support@secdit.com or through our contact page.
